Part of our school community includes Eastern OOSH, who provide Before and After School Care, as well as Vacation Care services for Double Bay Public School families.

Homework
Homework is a valuable part of schooling. It allows for practise and consilidation of work completed in class. Homework provides training for students in planning and organising time as well as establishing habits of study, concentration and self-discipline.
Double Bay Public School in consultation with our community have developed school homework guidelines to best meet the needs of all students and parents/caregivers, whilst also adhering to the Department of Education Homework Policy Guidelines.
Recommended time allocations per night
The following are the recommended times for homework tasks in accord with DoE Policy.
Times indicated are per night. Where children have difficulty in completing homework within this timeframe on a regular basis, you should consult the teacher.

Religion & Ethics
NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
At Double Bay Public School, SRE and SEE is delivered on Thursday from 1:40-2:10pm for K-2 students and from 2:20-2:50pm for Years 3-6 students.
Upon enrolment parents/carers will be given the SRE and SEE participation letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child’s enrolment in SRE/SEE should be given to the school office, in writing.
During the time that SRE/SEE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a separate space and will participate in alternative meaningful activities such as reading, drawing and puzzles.
