School Behaviour Support and Managment Plan

Double Bay Public School is dedicated to explicitly teaching and modelling positive behaviour, supporting all students to be engaged with their learning. The School Behaviour Support and Management Plan (SBSMP) includes weekly Positive Behaviour for Learning lessons, digital citizenship lessons, resilience programs, wellbeing programs, social skills programs, and anti-bullying workshops. The plan promotes positive behaviour and social-emotional learning through prevention, early intervention, and targeted individual interventions. The plan has been developed in line with the Student Behaviour Policy, Behaviour Code for Students, and the School Community Charter, and is available on the school website for parents, carers, and the school community.

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

At our school, PBL is a consistent, school-wide system of support that helps define, teach and support appropriate student behaviours to create a positive, safe and supportive environment. Our whole school community works together to establish expected behaviours and teach them to all students.

PBL is an approach for schools that is supported state-wide by the NSW Department of Education and is underpinned by the Wellbeing Framework for Schools.

The Toolbox Project

At Double Bay Public School there is a collective commitment to the implementation of the Toolbox Project. Through weekly targeted lessons students at Double Bay are provided with the opportunity to experience and become aware of the 12 innate tools that exist within them to assist with their own social and emotional wellbeing. More information regarding the project can be located at The Toolbox Project

Digital Citizenship

To promote safe and responsible use of technology, all K-6 students participate in Digital Citizenship education throughout the year. These lessons see students take on real challenges and digital dilemmas, giving them the skills needed to success as digital learners and citizens. Learning in digital citizenship includes lessons in privacy and security, relationships and communication, and information literacy.
