PSSA
Double Bay has a proud tradition of successfully competing in Sydney Coastal PSSA. Our Summer teams are selected at the very start of the year, as the season often starts in Week 3. Double Bay selects touch football teams and basketball teams. They compete during Terms 1 and 4. Our Winter selections are held at the very end of Term 1, so they can start the first week back of Term 2 and continue till the end of Term 3. We have netball teams; mixed rugby league; girls soccer teams and boys soccer teams.

School Sport
Double Bay provides a range of engaging sporting activities to Year 3-6 students. These activities are designed to build the skills and understandings required in a variety of sports, including those in Summer and Winter PSSA. Students participate in multiple rotations and activities in each session, subsequently building on skills learnt in the previous lessons.
K-2 Sport
Kindergarten, Year One and Year Two (K-2) participate in regular physical activity through creative play, dance, gymnastics, minor games and sports. K-2 learn a range of fundamental movement skills, including balance, vertical jump, sprint run, catch, hop, side gallop, skip, overhand throw, kick and two-handed strike. The sport sessions are run by classroom teachers and specialist staff.
Students in Year 2 and Year 3 also participate in an intensive swim program each year.
School Carnivals
The swimming carnival is held in Term 1 for all students, 8 years and above. Students can compete in competitive races in the four strokes of freestyle, breastroke, backstroke and butterfly. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in non-competitive races in a 25m pool.
The Cross Country carnival is held in Term 2 for all students, Years 2-6. Students run distances between 1-3km, depending on their age group.
In Term 3, all students participate in the Athletics Carnival. Students, 8 years and above, compete in 100m, 200m and 800m running races as well as shot put, discus, high jump and long jump. The Infants Athletics Carnival is a fun filled day where K-2 students are able to practise and demonstrate their fundamental movement skills in a variety of rotational activities.
